In addition to your doctor, look to your friends and family to help you research and understand heart failure. They can help you develop a list of questions to guide discussions with your doctor. Remember to bring someone with you to your appointments. This way, you will have help gathering information, taking notes and asking questions. After the appointment, take time to talk about what you both heard and capture any additional questions.
